6 Ways to Prepare for a Shower Door Installation

by | Sep 23, 2022 | Construction and Maintenance

A new shower door makes for an excellent bathroom upgrade. If you’re thinking about hiring pros, here are some ways to help you prepare for that visit.

Remove the Clutter

Make sure you remove clutter from the area where the new door is supposed to go. Set aside your things in your bedroom or someplace else until the installation is done.

Provide Space

To ensure the shower door installation goes off without a hitch, you’ll want to provide the technician with plenty of room. Aside from removing the clutter from your bathroom, you’ll want to remove anything else that could hamper movement in the area, especially if the space is tight. If you have an air humidifier, you’ll want to take that out temporarily. That will give the technician more room to work.

Ask for a License

Don’t just let anyone through the front door, though. Make sure you ask for a copy of the technician’s license before they show up at your address. That way, you can double-check once they ring the doorbell. Be sure to go over the dates, too. Is the license up to date and current?

Clean Your Bathroom

A clean bathroom will allow the shower door technician to start working as soon as they arrive. That’s why you’ll want to clean up a bit. Anything that you don’t want the technician to see or anything that might get in the way of the installation must go.

Talk About Covid Compliance

The last thing you want is to get exposed to the virus. Ask the company and technician about the measures they’ve taken and continue to take to ensure that customers remain safe when their crews do home visits for repairs and installations.

Keep Pets and Kids Away

Kids and pets might play with the tools or equipment and that could lead to accidents. Make sure you keep both away until the technician is done. Mr. Glass & Mirror – Houston
